Get to know Doris M. Rodriguez, Esq.

 Greetings! Allow me to share a bit of my journey with you. I established my practice Spring of 2009 immediately after the birth of my son. Prior to starting my practice as an Attorney, I worked for a firm in Safety Harbor, Florida, that mainly handled commercial real estate matters. I handled closings, including drafting legal documents necessary for the purchase and/or sale of land, supermarkets, commercial plazas, and drug stores to name a few. During that time, I was immersed with the complexities and rewards that surrounded commercial real estate law. Unfortunately, the real estate market was declining, and a market crash was approaching.

In the years leading up to 2008, housing prices had been steadily rising, creating a housing bubble. Many believed that home prices would keep increasing, so they invested heavily in real estate. Many banks and financial institutions held large amounts of these risky mortgage-backed securities. When it became clear that the underlying mortgages were defaulting at alarming rates, these institutions suffered massive losses. As more homeowners defaulted on their mortgages, foreclosures surged, causing a glut of houses on the market. This oversupply led to a sharp decline in home prices.  I began assisting homeowners, investors, builders, and any person or entity with Loan Modifications, Short Sales, and Deed in Lieu of Foreclosures. Assisting distressed homeowners, investors, and builders lasted well over a decade.

Today I remain committed to guiding those who seek my expertise in navigating the complexities of real estate law matters. You must love what you do for a living, and I do! Outside my professional life, I love relaxing at the beach and traveling.
